The NWA has been sued by a member of the promotion operating out of Dallas who is alleging insurance fraud by the company. R. Bruce Tharpe filed suit against the National Wrestling Alliance and its parent organization Pro Wrestling Organization, LLC, as well as Bob Trobich, Fred Rubenstein, Bill Behrens, Dave Marquez, Michael Porter, Ken Taylor and Michael Sircy. Tharpe claims that the company purposefully misrepresented itself to their insurance company by saying covered gatherings of 100 members, when events have drawn well over that number and thus put Tharpe and others legally at risk.
The lawsuit also alleges that the NWA fraudulently got Tharpe and others to join by saying they would be covered by the insurance and that Trobich, who is the NWA Executive director, was the head of a conspiracy that along with the Board of Directors threatened members with fines and expulsion if questions about the insurance were brought up. Tharpe is seeking up to $49,000 in damages and an independent audit of the promotion's finances.
One source close to the situation says that they believe this is an attempt by Tharpe to take over the promotion and run it, noting that Tharpe tried to get others to go along with him against Trobich and when they refused, they were added to the lawsuit. The source notes that Tharpe was tired of seeing Trobich do "nothing" with the company, noting that only Marquez has regular TV and that the organization has no strategy guiding it.
Hogan claims he almost joined an early version of Metallica and that he used to be good friends with drummer Lars Ulrich during his days as a session musician.
He said: "I used to be a session musician before I was a wrestler. I played bass guitar. I was big pals with Lars Ulrich and he asked me if I wanted to play bass with Metallica in their early days but it didn't work out."
He added that he was a big fan of The Stone Roses and he used to play them during his workout sessions. He added: "I love the Stone Roses. They're getting back together, right? That's cool man. I used to work out to some of their songs."
Finally, he mentioned the band Kasabian and said: "I heard about these guys. They have made a show about UK wrestling in the '80s, called 'Walk Like A Panther'. I know Rollerball Rocco, he's in it. He's my guy. I'll be his tag partner and sort them out for trashing hotel rooms under my name."
Hulk Hogan competed in his first match since October at Impact Wrestling's "2012 Maximum Impact IV" Tour event in Nottingham, England Thursday. After the main event match of Bobby Roode and James Storm ended in disqualification, a six-man tag team match was set up with Hogan, Storm and Sting vs. Roode, Bully Ray and Kurt Angle. Hogan took no bumps and the opposition sold his offense. Hogan hit the Big boot on Roode, which was followed by Storm nailing Roode with the Atomic Leg Drop for the pinfall victory.

It was reported a few weeks back that Ric Flair and the TNA crew watched the Four Horsemen WWE Hall of Fame vignette on RAW backstage at the Impact Wrestling tapings that night.
Triple H actually called Flair that day to tell him about the Horsemen induction but the TNA tapings were already over by the time the video aired on RAW. Flair was at a bar with some of the TNA crew watching the LSU vs. Alabama game when John Laurinaitis texted him to tell him when it would be airing. Flair was in tears as he watched the video with his co-workers. Flair was telling people how happy he was for the other Horsemen and vowed to be in attendance but noted that he knew he would hear something from TNA management about it.

After dropping the World Heavyweight title months earlier than expected at WWE's December TLC due to a groin injury, Henry was injured once again at Tuesday's WWE SmackDown tapings from Tuscon, AZ.
Mark Henry is believed to have suffered a hyper-extended knee during his match with the Big Show, which will air tonight on SyFy. Henry, who has dealt with knee problems in the past, threw a punch without properly planting his foot.
A reader who watched the Australian broadcast of SmackDown (which airs a day earlier down under) said it was clear that something went very wrong after Henry collapsed "like he had been shot in the thigh" and immediately exited the ring in pain. They immediately cut to commercial and the match eventually ended in a count out.
According to a script of SmackDown that has been circulating online this week, the original plan was for Daniel Bryan to attack Big Show with a chair. Show was supposed to make a comeback, chokeslam Bryan and leave him laid out. The show would then end with Henry delivering a big splash to Bryan, closing scene being Bryan destroyed in the ring.
